Hemsley House. Salford Masonic Hall, 41, The Crescent Salford.
Freemasonry in the District of Salford is based at Hemsley House, a purpose built Masonic Hall dating back to the 1930's. There are 25 Craft Lodges based here, the oldest of which dates back to 1799, as well as Royal Arch Chapters, Mark Lodges and some other orders. Most Lodges meet in the evenings, once a month , between September and May. Lodges generally meet during the week, with the occasional Lodge meeting on Saturday, but never on a Sunday or Bank Holiday. There are also some Lodges which meet during the day for the convenience of their members
The activities of Freemasons are wide and varied. In addition to Lodge meetings we enjoy an extensive social life which includes dinner dances, golf and bowling competitions, clay pigeon shooting, holiday weekends, motorcycle clubs, caravan clubs and much more.
Our social activities help to support many charities. Besides the national Masonic charities, whose links can be found on this site, many local charities are also supported such as St. Anne's Hospice, Broughton House and the Rainbow Trust. In addition we support many local community projects.
The Freemasons' Grand Charity is a grant-making charity. Last year it gave grants totalling over £5 million to support people in need and the work of charities
